Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I need help or have a question what should I do?

One of the benefits of purchasing the course is access to our private facebook group. You can post questions there and interact with other students.

Q: I have both digital and printed photo photos, which course should I start with?

Great question? Start with the photos that are most at risk. If you live in an area prone to floods, fires, and hurricanes and you know your digital photos are backed up to the cloud, then you should start with prints. If you have no backup system in place for your digital collection then your images are most at risk than your prints. Weigh the odds!

Q: If I only purchase one course, not the bundle, can I still get the discount if I buy the second course in a few months?

No. The bundle, which saves you $29 is only available when you purchase both courses at the same time. You can add either course at a later date at full price or purchase both courses now for $119

Q: I am interested in becoming a professional photo organizer, will this course help me?

Yes, this course is perfect for professional photo organizers or those exploring the profession. We always suggest you begin by organizing your own photo collection to learn skills and techniques while building your confidence. Plus, we know professionals organize peoples photos for them, or they teach people how to do it themselves. Our methods for either course are teachable with your potential clients.

Clear and to the Point!

Took both courses. The information in "Digital" is excellent and taking it first helped me visualize the end product for both. Wrangling printed photos is what I needed! Well thought out and taught step-by-step. This course was clear and to the point. It spoke directly to me on how to get a bridle on my personal large and wild collection. I learn best from the live action "bonus" videos: Watching and listening like in a classroom. More of that would be amazing, but then I'd have to give the course 6 stars. Cindy Wagner

I cannot recommend this course highly enough!!!

This course saved my life! OK, "saved my life" might be an exaggeration but it has definitely saved my sanity! I've always felt so overwhelmed by the large number of photographs I've accumulated over the years that I've actually avoided looking at all but the most recent photos I've taken on my phone. I know I would enjoy all my family photos more if they were organized and easily accessible, but I've always felt like, "where do I even begin??" Well, thanks to "Printed Photo Organizing Made Easy," I now know exactly how to begin! This simple step-by-step plan to catalog and organize printed photographs and mementos breaks the whole process down into simple, logical, manageable steps. Instead of feeling paralyzed with anxiety over the size of the task, I now feel motivated to get started because I've finally got a game plan. It's so encouraging to know that even just an hour a day will get the job done over time, with this careful, thoughtful, methodical approach. I also found the excellent tips on proper storage of photographs for preservation and long-term safekeeping to be extremely helpful. As natural disasters increase in frequency and intensity, it's just smart to take the time to catalog, preserve, and safeguard precious (and irreplaceable) photographs and mementos, as well as important documents (or high quality copies) like birth certificates, social security cards, marriage licenses, passports, etc. - things that would be extremely difficult and time-consuming to replace in the aftermath of a natural disaster. But I think my favorite part "Printed Photo Organizing Made Easy" is the emphasis on the importance of storytelling. My mom took the time to write the names of people, places, and dates on most of her photographs, along with brief descriptions of the occasions. This is so helpful now that she's gone. (I also love having these brief snippets of her lovely old-school handwriting.) I took for granted all the family stories she was so fond of telling but now that she's gone, I often find myself wishing I had written stuff down. So now, as I sort through and catalog my family photographs, I'm going to take the time to add all the metadata I can remember to each photo or memento, as this course suggests. And can we just talk about the fact that it's OK to throw out, like, 80% of your photos?? Or that there's a way to safely remove photographs that were glued on back in the day? And to save photos you thought were otherwise ruined? (I mean, the freezer?? Who knew??) I could go on and on (obviously). But the bottom line is that, thanks to "Printed Photo Organizing Made Easy," I've now got the tools and knowledge I need to finally get my photos organized!!! So while this course might not have literally "saved my life," it is helping me to save the precious photographs, mementos, and stories that have documented my life and the life of my entire family. And that, as they say, is priceless!

Printed Photo Organizing Made Easy

Not only did I enjoy this training, I learned so much about the fundamentals of protecting and organizing my printed photos. The presenters are engaging, and the sequence of modules well organized. In this age of wildfires/natural disasters and the terrible risk of loss of precious possessions, I found learning the steps to protect and save our images (and stories) really impactful. This course also nudged me to take some more risks and “think out of the box” with my photo projects. Printed Photo Organizing Made Easy is well worth the investment of time and cost. Thanks for taking a complex topic and making it so user-friendly.

No Experience Needed!

by Ann Cronin
This course allows someone like me, someone without any knowledge about preserving photos and documents and with only rudimentary technological skills, to organize bins of memories and create treasures with them. I feel as if I have a trusted friend, guiding me each step of the way. I always know exactly where I am in the process, how much time the instruction will take, and what the next steps are when I complete the one I am currently doing. I also like that I can go at my own pace and according to my own schedule because I can pause and resume as I want. The printed transcript at the end of each section lets me review the instructions, if I need to, as I work. I also find that the materials in the Bonus Sections make practical so many of the suggestions. I honestly can't believe how easy this course makes it to accomplish what I once thought was impossible. I would expect to pay much more for a course like this. I feel energized, creative, and so excited to share my family stories with others who lived them.

Loved it!

This class was fantastic! The material was very well presented and offered so many check lists, tips, product references and thematic ideas that I now feel much less overwhelmed! As a result, I am thoroughly enjoying the process of this project and am thrilled by my results so far. The class was well worth the time and the cost!

Timely, clear and helpful!

This is was just the course that I needed. I have boxes of family photos that I've wanted to scan & share with my sisters who live in another state. With the process that was laid out and many practical tips, along with some inspiring thoughts along the way, I am on my way to having my photos organized. I would recommend this course to anyone who needs a "push" to finally getting something done with their printed photo collection.

True to its name, this is SO easy.

by Chelsey Young
I helped a friend a few months ago when her mom passed away, sort through her boxes of photos for the funeral. We were so overwhelmed and it was hard to know where to start. As I worked my way through this course, I found myself wishing I had known some of these tips when I helped my friend. If you have boxes of photos and memorabilia, especially those old heritage boxes (where everything is dumped in and disorganized) then you need this course!

WORTH EVERY PENNY!

by Eileen Gittens
I often joke with my friends telling them that we were the most photographed children in the United States!! But it was no joke! When my Dad passed away three years ago, I became "the person" in my family who received 22 (!) carousel slide trays as well as three bags full of printed photos. I've been feeling guilty that I haven't done anything with these photos since... What finally got me off the dime is that I live in Sonoma County, CA where all the devastating fires were in 2017. I also have friends who live just outside Paradise, CA. -- the town that was basically incinerated a couple of months ago. We know people who have lost everything -- and if I ever needed a wake-up call for getting my act together with these photos... this was it. I AM SO GLAD I DID! The course was so easy to follow I ended up taking the course for digital photos too. I have digital files that are literally everywhere -- and I mean on my phone, my husband's phone, on each of our computers plus cloud storage. For the first time I feel I've got my arms around WHAT TO DO!! YAY! Many thanks Photo Organizing people! If I could give you 6 stars, I would.

This course is a must-have in your photo organizing toolkit!

If you have a closet full of photos and you don’t know where to start to get them organized, this course is for you! As someone who is easily overwhelmed, Cathi and Lisa did a masterful job of alleviating my anxiety by breaking down a huge project into bite sized pieces that everyone can follow. There are checklists, worksheets and even family timelines that can help get you organized in no time. The bonus and resource sections give you product recommendations and discounts that you can use. This is a course you’ll refer back to again and again. Don’t try to tackle your photos without it!
